Oreo Truffles

These are Steve's new favorite treat. If you like Oreos you will love these! They are so easy to make and have been such a big hit around here I thought I'd share the recipe. You need one pkg of Oreos, one 8oz pkg of cream cheese, and some white chocolate almond bark. Put the Oreos cream center and all into a food processor (save a few to smash and sprinkle on the top for later), then mix the softened cream cheese into your Oreo mixture. Roll into balls and refridgerate for about 1 hour so they are easier to handle. Then coat the balls in your almond bark and sprinkle some Oreo crumbs on top. So good and great for summer because you don't even have to turn on your oven.

Bountiful Baskets

I just heard about Bountiful Baskets which is a co-op volunteer run group that pools peoples money together to buy fresh produce for cheap. I was excited to give it a try and was not disappointed. You contribute $15.00 on Tuesday and then on Saturday you get to go pick up your goods. The catch is you don't know what you're getting until you pick it up. It's a surprise! Last week we cot Celery, lettuce, green beans, broccoli, potatoes, apricots, apples, grapes, bananas, cantaloupe, and coconuts. I like it because we got things I don't normally buy and the kids really liked trying new things.

It's SO hot!

It's only just the beginining of June and it's already 106 outside. My kids wanted to go to the park but I really wasn't up for it today. So I made an indoor slide on the stairs. It was a total hit! They had a blast playing on it for hours. All in the comfort of our air conditioned home.

Luke really spiced things up by riding a boogie board down the slide

I know a lot of people would not approve of such indoor activities. But nothing was broken or ruined and nobody was hurt and I avoided spending the day out in the hot sun!

Teasing, already?

Our little Luke loves to tease. At the ripe old age of 20 months he already knows exactly how to push Kate's buttons. He gets so much enjoyment out of bugging Kate, and Kate never fails to give him the sort of reaction he is looking for. The other day Kate said to me, "Mommy I'm tired I want to take a nap." I replied, "Okay just wait one minute and I'll take you upstairs and tuck you in." A few minutes later we walked into her room to find Luke laying in her bed with her special blankie and laughing. Kate of course started crying at the very sight. Luckily the tickle monster was able to tickle him right out of her bed and Kate got her nap.
