We got family pics taken. With the amount of littles in our group  it's crazy hard to get everyone to sit still and look nice. Ashley is a miracle worker because she somehow managed to get some great shots despite the high levels of uncoopertiveness she was dealing with. . Thanks Ashley! Dance Partay

Sometimes when it's been a crazy day and you just need to burn off some energy and emotions dance parties are the best solution. Yesterday Luke declared he needed a dance party. But not just an ordinary dance party a costume dance party. So we got out the dress up stuff and rocked out to some Michael Jackson. It was fun and it felt good.

Rachel loves to eat food and get really messy. So messy that she gets a bath after almost every meal.

Off to School

Kate and Luke started school today.

In the Glendale School District they have a program called transitional kindergarten (TK). It's every day from 7:45-12:15. Luke was so excited when he found out he was starting school this year. Then next year he'll be in regular kindergarten. He is really excited and motivated to learn. He's really smart and I know he will do great.

First day and he already has a good friend!

Miss Kate started 1st grade. She loves life. She is a stop and smell the roses kind of girl. She helps me see beauty in ordinary things and I love that about her. She's so excited about going to school and making new friends! I'm excited to watch her learn and grow.

Happy back to school to my two big kids. Have a fabulous year. I love you guys. Now stop growing up already!!!

A Much Needed Break

Moving has been stressful and crazy. We have been feeling pretty spent and were in desperate need of a break so we headed to the beach! It was so fun and exactly what we needed. 

We built sand castles, buried each other, jumped over waves, chased birds, played with sand crabs, searched for shells and relaxed! 

Our New Home

Well we loaded up all our stuff and all our kids and made the drive to California. After a lot of research and prayer and denied rental applications we finally found  a cute little house in La Crescenta to call home. Moving in has been hard. Crazy hard. Our landlord bought this house at auction and we are discovering all sorts of electrical and plumbing issues they were not aware of. We were  without gas for 5 days. The showers and baths were painfully cold. Then the plumbing started backing up and poop started coming up through the shower drains. So on top of trying to watch my 5 kids and unpack I've been busy bleaching tubs. Seriously disgusting!!! We still do not have a working washer or dryer so I have a huge pile of laundry that's growing bigger every day. Although getting moved in has been rough we really love the area and when the house issues get fixed and we get unpacked I'm certain we'll be happy here. The neighbors are so friendly everyone has come by and introduced themselves and several brought us over fresh picked fruit from their yards. The ward was so welcoming it was unbelievable. Five different people asked me for my cell. We've already been invited for play dates and have been the recipients of baked goodies. The ward has lots of young families in it and we feel like it's a great fit for us. The commute to school for Steve is reasonable. The weather is beautiful we leave doors and windows open all day and It's super pretty. If we can just survive a few more days of unpacking and house repairs I know we will be really happy here!

The Myers

We got in one last play date with the Myers before our move. We love playing with them. They are so fun and nice and their house is so exciting with rock walls and secret hiding places. Guaranteed good times are had when you're with the Myers.

We are really going to miss them!
