We spend Christmas Eve every year at my in-laws house. It's always so much fun. We start off with of course a delicious meal.
Then the kids act out the nativity. My Father-in-law narrates it and we all sing the songs together. This year Kate and Jason were angels. Luke was a wiseman.
After the nativity all the families compete in a friendly Christmas skit competition. All the skits were so good this year. I was enjoying them so much I forgot to take pics. This is the best shot I could get of the kids in their matching jammies. Not the greatest pic but I challenge you to get them to all look at the camera and smile nicely at the same time.
Christmas morning. Notice that Luke and Jason are wearing different jammies. This is because Luke cried so hard (over soda) on the way home he puked all over himself. He does this sometimes we're used to it. Jason was legit sick and came into our room at about 11:00 puking. He kept puking until about 2:30 AM. Kate woke a few hours later and came into our room and declared "Santa has been here!" Jason seemed to be feeling better so we all headed downstairs to open presents. It was exciting and fun and magical.
We were hanging out relaxing before our 11:00 church and it turns out Jason was not better. He proved this by puking all over me in the face and everything. Steve grabbed him and rinsed him off and started a bath for him. I threw another load of pukey linen in the laundry and by the time I got in the shower all the hot water was GONE. So I enjoyed a nice cold shower to rinse all the puke off. Later that day there were no more vomit incidents so we decided to head over to Steve's parents to open presents and enjoys hanging out with the family.
It certainly wasn't the perfect Christmas, but it was still a good Christmas. We have been blessed. We know the savior. We feel his love in our home and in our lives.
Oh my, those are memories that will last a lifetime :) You guys are awesome. And hello, don't you just love the picture taking challenge these days!?!? I feel like we're starting to get better so give it some time.
