July 4th Weekend

We had a great July 4th weekend. Tim, Jessica, Nate, & Sam spent the whole weekend with us. The kids loved having "a sleepover" with their cousins. They spent most of the time running around in their underwear and playing outside in the 100 degree weather. We don't get to see them often so we really enjoyed their company.

Sunday we blessed My sweet little Wesley. My brothers Mike & Tim both traveled from AZ to be there. There were some unfortunate events that prevented my parents from making it and Luke was sick and puked all over me right after the blessing. However, despite these distractions the spirit was strong and I know he is special boy. The thing that stood out to me most in his blessing was when Steve blessed him with the gift of love. That he he would do things and make decision out of love. That love would be his guide as he journeyed through this life.

Monday we headed over to Steve's parents for their annual July 4th party. In my opinion it was the best July 4th party to date. The weather was perfect. The pool was dreamy. My kids had a blast and were really well behaved. Luke & Kate both jumped off the diving board several times and swam around like little fish in floaties. I won 4 medals in the Olympic competitions and little Kate got an honorable mention in the biggest splash category! When it got dark we had a sparkler parade and Grandpa Edington passed out glow in the dark necklaces and swords. Then to top it all off we watched some safe and sane fireworks! It was the perfect day.

  1. Sorry we didn't know about the blessing. We try to make it to the important stuff and little Wesley's blessing is super important! I'm glad despite the throw up (and I hope your parents are ok) that everything went well. July 4th sounds amazing. I'm glad everyone had fun.
